We are excited to welcome our new head coach, Trace Carroll. Coach Carroll's energy and passion, experience on the offensive side of the field, commitment to success, and ties to the Chaparral community are all qualities that stood out to the interview team. As a former Chaparral player and assistant coach, he bleeds scarlet and gold, and he is very much looking forward to getting started.

Coach Carroll comes to Chaparral with 15 years of coaching experience. He started right here at Chaparral High School in 2009. First serving as a  freshman assistant, he worked his way up to Varsity Offensive Coordinator in 2016. After a stop at Mountain Pointe in 2018, Coach Carroll landed at Pinnacle High School, where he spent the last six seasons helping lead the Pioneers offense as the Pass Game Coordinator and Quarterback Coach. In his coaching career, Coach Carroll has been a part of three state championship teams, three state runner-ups, and has coached four Division I quarterbacks. Carroll is happily married to his wife, Shayleigh, and in January of 2024, they welcomed their first child, Trace Carroll Jr. (TJ), into the world.
