Tommy Christakos voted top performer of Week 1

This is our list of the top Arizona high school football performances turned in during Week 1.

Week 1 Top Performer

Tommy Christakos, Chaparral, WR/K, Jr.

Christakos had 12 catches for 238 yards, including a touchdown, and kicked the game-tying, 44-yard field goal with 1:17 left that sent the game into overtime, which Chaparral won 36-33 at Chandler Hamilton.

Spencer Rattler, Phoenix Pinnacle, QB, Sr.

Rattler completed 21 of 33 passes for 415 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 46 yards and a score in a 59-33 6A win over Gilbert Perry.

Enrique Perez, Tucson Catalina Foothills, DB, Jr.

Perez had 30 tackles, 24 assisted, and ran for 90 yards on three carries, including an 83-yard TD, in a 28-17 win over Sierra Vista Buena.

Spencer Brasch, Gilbert Higley, QB, Sr.

Brasch completed 24 of 46 for 396 yards, seven TDs and no interceptions in a 48-47 win over Paraclete (Calif.).

Kedon Slovis, Scottsdale Desert Mountain, QB, Sr.

In a loss to Glendale Apollo, he passed for 401 yards and three TDs with no interceptions, completing 32 of 54.

Jack Miller, Scottsdale Chaparral, QB, Jr.

In a 36-33 overtime win at Chandler Hamilton, Miller completed 24 of 47 for 453 yards and three TDs, including the game-winner in OT.

Tyler Beverett, Scottsdale Saguaro, QB, Jr.

Beverett completed eight of nine passes for 155 yards and two TDs and ran four times for 101 yards and two TDs in a 48-3 win over Poston Butte.

Trenton Bourguet, Marana, QB, Sr.

Bourguet completed 17 of 23 for 288 yards and two TDs and ran in a score in a 42-36 win at Scottsdale Horizon.

Connor Soelle, Saguaro, LB/RB, Sr.

Soelle had eight tackles and 95 yards total offense with a score.

Ali Mohamed, Glendale Apollo, RB, Sr.

Had 34 carries for 256 yards and four TDs and had a receiving TD in win over Scottsdale Desert Mountain 

Aaron Wood, Mesa Skyline, RB, Sr.

Wood carried 21 times for 214 yards and two touchdowns in Skyline's 47-7 win over Glendale Mountain Ridge.

Brandon Nunez, Mesa Mountain View, QB, Sr.

Nunez was 19 of 31 for 355 yards and four TDs and ran seven times for 70 yards and a score in a 49-14 win over Tempe Corona del Sol.

Titan Widjaja, Buckeye Verrado, QB, Sr.

In a win over Phoenix South Mountain, completed 22 of 33 for 315 yards and two TDs.

Chris Grillo, Scottsdale Horizon, RB, Sr.

Grillo carried 13 times for 188 yards and two TDs in a 42-36 loss to Marana.
