Arizona high school football Week 6 top performers; vote in our poll

A look at who stood out in Week 6 of the Arizona high school football season.

Carter Allen, Phoenix Central, WR

He set a single-game school record with 275 yards receiving on eight catches and touchdowns of 80 and 63 yards in win over Sierra Linda.

Grady Hickey, Scottsdale Chaparral, WR/RB

He had four carries for 102 yards, including the game-winning 89-yard TD with 5:45 to play in a 27-26 win over Scottsdale Saguaro. He caught five passes for 84 yards.

Jordan Legg, Mesa Dobson, QB

He was 17 of 33 for328 yards and two TDs, and kicked two field goals, including a 37-yard game-tying field goal with two seconds left and the winner from 20 yards out in overtime to win it.

Brendan Anderson, Glendale Mountain Ridge, QB

The junior passed for 285 yards and rushed for 33 and had four TDs in a win over Phoenix North.

Adryan Lara, Goodyear Desert Edge, QB

The senior was 26 of 38 for 372 yards and four TDs in a win.

Diego Montoya, Duncan, KR

The sophomore caught a lateral pass on a kickoff return from freshman Isaac Harris and went around the right side and down the sideline as time ran out for a touchdown to give his team a 32-28 win over Sells Baboquivari.

Isaac Ayala, NFL YET, QB/LB

He was six of seven for 120 yards and two TDs passing, ran 21 times for 85 yards and two scores and had eight tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in a 28-23 win over Gilbert Arete Prep.

Blaine Hipa, Chandler, QB

He was 27 of 39 for 361 yards and three TDs in a 41-21 win over Liberty.

Andre Palmer, Dobson, TE

He had 12 catches for 230 yards and a TD.

Adam Damante, American Leadership Gilbert North, QB

He was 31 of 37 for 400 yards and five TDs in a win over Fountain Hills.

Brandon Phelps, ALA Gilbert North, WR

He had seven catches for 105 yards and a TD.

Logan Hubler, American Leadership Queen Creek, QB

He was 22 of 27 passing for 351 yards and four TDs and ran for a score in a 44-12 win over Northwest Christian.

Gabe Escobedo, Miami, Athlete

He had four rushing TDs, threw a TD pass and converted five two-point plays in a close win over Alchesay.

Kakoa Upton, Alchesay, RB

He ran for six TDs in the loss to Miami.

Brayten Silbor, Chaparral, QB

He was 19 of 33 for 238 yards and two TDs with an interception.

Nason Coleman, Chandler, TE

In his second game back, he had eight catches for 94 yards and two TDs, including one to close the first half and tie the score at 21.

Ryan Finch, Mountain Ridge, Athlete

He ran for 96 yards and two TDs and had three catches for 12 yards and a score.

Quaron Adams, Chandler, WR

He had five catches for 122 yards and a TD.

Lukas Garvey, Chaparral, TE

He caught six passes for 101 yards and a TD.

Matthew Johanson, Greenway, WR

The sophomore had seven catches for 172 yards and two TDs in a 32-22 win over Moon Valley.

Davondre Bucannon, Chaparral, DB

He stripped the ball loose from the Saguaro running back before he could score with the ball going out of the end zone for a touchback early in the second half, changing momentum. He also broke up a pass play late in the game and recovered the on-side kick by Saguaro in the closing two minutes.

Deshaun Buchanan, Chandler Basha, RB

Ran for 113 yards and two TDs on six carries in a win.

Demond Williams Jr., Basha, QB

He had 250 yards passing and 75 rushing and totaled four TDs in three quarters of work.

Vinny Mansfield, Desert Edge, WR

Caught 10 passes for 134 yards and a TD.

Johnny Delgado, River Valley, K

He was 8 for 8 on PATs, 2 for 2 on field goals, and had two touchbacks.

Zach Hammett, River Valley, RB

He ran seven times for 221 yards and four TDs.

Sinjin Schmidt, Boulder Creek, RB

He ran for 179 yards and five TDs in a 56-42 win over Higley.

Terrance Hall, Mountain Ridge, Athlete

He had two TD catches, giving him six on the season.

Jack McFarland, Boulder Creek, TE

He caught a TD pass and returned a kickoff for a score.

Dom Bagchi, Central, QB

He passed for more than 350 yards and three TDs in win over Sierra Linda.

Zack Kilburg, Desert Mountain, RB

Ran for 106 yards and a TD on 19 carries in a win over Peoria.

Porter Sweet, Desert Mountain, DL

He had 11 tackles, seven for losses, a sack and a pass deflection.

David Drennan, Superior, RB

In a 28-20 loss to Ray, he ran for 214 yards and two TDs and had 49 yards receiving on three catches.

Cody Leopold, Prescott, RB

He had 152 yards on 16 carries and eight tackles on defense in a 20-19 win over Lee Williams.

Michael Casillas, Morenci, RB

He ran for 204 yards and two TDs on 22 carries and had nine tackles in a win over St. Johns.

Tristen Sanchez, Morenci, DE

He had 10 tackles and five sacks.

Dylan Spencer, Trivium Prep, Athlete

He had 16 touches for 155 yards and two TDs in a 47-34 win over Heritage Laveen.

Luke Willingham, Trivium Prep, QB

He had 159 yards rushing and three TDs on eight carries.

Marcus Oberriter, Holbrook, QB

He was five of six for 202 yards and five TDs in one half.

Izzy Ramos, Holbrook, WR

He had three catches 137 yards and three TDs, and blocked a punt.

Matt Loza, Camp Verde, RB

He had scoring runs of 55 and 6 yards and a 35-yard scoring catch in a 60-22 win over Page.

Noah Sanchez, Tempe McClintock, NG

The senior had 14 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and four tackles for losses in a win over rival Tempe.

Jayden Diaz, Arizona College Prep, QB

He passed for 199 yards and a TD. completing 12 of 13, and ran for 67 yards and two scores in a win over Scottsdale Coronado.

Corbyn Vasily, Cactus Shadow, QB

The senior was 14 of 18 for 307 yards and four TD passes to four different receivers in a 48-0 win over Laveen Betty Fairfax. His TD passes went for 5, 49, 55 and 69 yards.

Issac Matthews, Glendale Raymond S Kellis, QB

The senior passed for 101 yards and a TD and ran 10 times for 164 yards and three TDs in a win over Goodyear Estrella Foothills.

David Lopez, Phoenix Brophy Prep, RB

In his first varsity start, the junior gave the Broncos a spark in a win over Scottsdale Notre Dame with 86 yards and a TD on 19 carries and four catches for 37 yards.
