South Dakota State has had great success recruiting in Arizona, with Danny Batten (Mesquite), Ryan Crawford (Ironwood Ridge), Jimmy Rogers (Hamilton) and Isaiah Jackson (Chandler) all making significant contributions to their team in 2009.
They are trying to get a jump start on one player that could potentially be one of the most heavily recruited players in the state when it is all said and done.
The Jackrabbits offered Scottsdale Chaparral OT Andre Yruretagoyena Scout.com has confirmed.
The staff made the offer though the Chaparral staff today while they were visiting another recruit, 2010 CB Brendan Murphy, who holds an SDSU offer.
This is sure to be the first of many for Andre, who talks about the offer, "I was surprised. I wasn't expecting it, that's for sure. I have done some research already and found out that they are a very good team, they barely lost to Montana in the first round of the playoffs."
Yruretagoyena (6-5 255) has already been receiving considerable recruiting attention. The 2nd team all-state performer has heard from Nebraska, UCLA, Colorado, San Diego State, Oregon State and Washington. He has also received offers from Arizona, Arizona St, and Michigan. FRIDAY JAN 29TH 2010
